Overview

MintSoft ("we," "us," or "our") developed OilToday — a fuel price widget and tracking app for Android and iOS. OilToday helps drivers find the cheapest nearby gas stations, monitor regional price trends, and receive scheduled price summary notifications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

Information We Collect

Automatically Collected

Device Information — device model, operating system version, RAM size, and chip architecture (used solely to determine on-device AI feature availability; never transmitted to our servers)
Location Data — precise GPS coordinates when you use the "nearby stations" feature to find the lowest fuel prices within a given radius; also used to set the widget's default region
Network Status — connectivity type (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to manage API request timing and offline behavior
App Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data generated locally to help us improve stability

Voluntarily Provided

Support Requests — if you contact us at app@mint-soft.com, we receive your email address and any information you include in your message
Widget & Notification Preferences — fuel type selection, region preferences, and notification schedule are stored locally on your device via shared preferences and are never uploaded to our servers

How We Use Your Information

Location — to query the Opinet (Korea National Oil Corporation) API for gas stations within your selected radius and sort results by price
Device Specifications — to decide at runtime whether on-device AI features (e.g., price anomaly detection) are available, without sending hardware details externally
Notification Scheduling — to deliver locally generated daily summaries of average, lowest, and highest fuel prices in your area at your chosen time; these notifications are created on-device and do not require a remote server
Home Screen Widget — to refresh fuel price data in the background via WorkManager so your widget always shows up-to-date prices
Advertising — to serve interest-based and contextual banner advertisements through Google AdMob; ad-related identifiers are handled entirely by the AdMob SDK under Google's privacy framework
Analytics & Improvement — aggregated, non-identifiable usage patterns (e.g., which screens are opened most) may be used internally to prioritize features

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob — provides in-app banner advertising. AdMob may collect your advertising ID, IP address, and device identifiers to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Opinet API (Korea National Oil Corporation) — supplies real-time and historical domestic fuel price data. Queries include your general region or coordinates but are governed by the Korea National Oil Corporation's data usage terms.
OpenStreetMap / Flutter Map — renders interactive map tiles to display nearby station locations. Tile requests are made to OpenStreetMap tile servers. OpenStreetMap's privacy policy applies to these tile requests: https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
Flutter & Dart Packages — supporting libraries (go_router, flutter_riverpod, etc.) operate entirely on-device and do not independently transmit personal data.

Data Storage and Security

OilToday is designed with a local-first architecture. User preferences, selected regions, widget configuration, and notification schedules are stored exclusively on your device using the operating system's secure shared preferences storage. We do not operate a user account system, and we do not maintain a database of personal user profiles on our servers.

Location data is used transiently to construct API queries and is not logged, cached on our servers, or shared with third parties beyond what is necessary to fetch fuel price results from Opinet. We implement reasonable technical measures — including encrypted HTTPS connections for all API calls — to protect data in transit. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

Because OilToday does not collect or store personal data on our own servers, there is no server-side retention period to disclose. Data stored locally on your device (preferences, widget settings, cached price data) persists until you clear app data or uninstall the app. Advertising identifiers managed by AdMob are subject to Google's own retention policies. If you contact our support email, we retain correspondence only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry.

Children's Privacy

OilToday is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at app@mint-soft.com and we will promptly take steps to delete such information to the extent it is within our control.

Your Rights

Access — you may request a summary of any personal information we hold about you (limited to support email correspondence, as we do not maintain user accounts or profiles)
Deletion — you may request deletion of any personal data we hold; for on-device data, you can clear app storage or uninstall the app at any time
Opt-out of Personalized Ads — on Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization; on iOS, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disable tracking for OilToday
Location Permission — you can revoke location access at any time in your device's app permission settings; the app will continue to function with manual region selection
Notification Permission — you can disable local notifications at any time in your device's notification settings

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the app's features, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document and, where required by law, notify you through the app or by other means. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of OilToday after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
