Can I Eat? Terms of Use (End User License Agreement)

These Terms govern your use of the mobile app “Can I Eat?” (“the App”) provided by MintSoft (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

Effective date: September 23, 2026

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control. We and our licensors keep all rights in the App and its content. On iOS, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where it conflicts with these Terms regarding Apple, Apple’s terms prevail.

2. Medical disclaimer (important)

  • The App is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. All results are for information only.
  • Verdicts and nutrients are AI estimates from a photo and can be inaccurate or wrong.
  • Allergy checks are based on recognized ingredients and can miss hidden ingredients, sauces, seasonings or cross-contamination. The App never guarantees that food is “safe” and tells you when it could not verify something. Always read the ingredient and allergen labels yourself.
  • Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before making decisions about your diet, medication or condition.
  • In an emergency, such as an allergic reaction, call your local emergency number immediately.

3. Limits of AI output

The App uses third-party AI models (such as Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) and public databases (such as Open Food Facts). Results depend on photo quality, lighting, recipe and portion size, and database entries may differ from or lag behind manufacturer labels. We make no warranty that results are accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose.

4. Free use and Can I Eat Pro

  • Free users get 3 AI photo analyses per day, plus 2 more by watching a rewarded ad. Barcode checks are unlimited.
  • Can I Eat Pro is optional and is offered as monthly or annual auto-renewing subscriptions or a one-time lifetime purchase. Pro removes ads and unlocks unlimited photo analyses. Prices are shown in the store before purchase.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account. A subscription auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. You can restore previous purchases with “Restore purchases”.

5. Ads and affiliate links

The free version shows banner, interstitial and rewarded ads. Shopping recommendations are affiliate links (Coupang Partners in Korea, AliExpress elsewhere) and are labeled as ads; we may earn a commission if you buy through them. Recommended products are not medical advice, and the store is responsible for sales, delivery and product quality.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the App unlawfully or in a way that infringes others’ rights.
  • Do not reverse engineer, modify or redistribute the App, or interfere with our servers or APIs (for example through automated or excessive requests).
  • Do not upload photos or personal information of others without permission.

7. Your data

Your health profile and records are stored on your device, and you are responsible for any export file you create. See our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to the service

We may add, change or discontinue features, in whole or in part, including when third-party providers change their services. We will give advance notice of material changes that adversely affect paying users.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”. We are not liable for health outcomes, allergic reactions, or indirect, special or consequential damages arising from reliance on the App’s results. This does not limit liability for our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under consumer protection law. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are subject to the Seoul Central District Court as the court of first instance, unless mandatory laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and will announce changes and their effective date in the App or at https://app.mint-soft.com/apps/caneat/terms in advance. Continuing to use the App after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
