Alarmy - Disaster Alerts

Privacy Policy

Effective: April 2026

Overview

MintSoft is a South Korea-based software developer committed to building practical mobile tools for everyday safety and awareness. Alarmy - Disaster Alerts is a real-time disaster and emergency alert application that helps users monitor natural disasters, public safety events, and regional emergencies. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use the App, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Automatically Collected

  • Device Information — device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and physical RAM size (used locally to determine whether your device can run the on-device Gemma AI model)
  • Usage Data — screens viewed, features accessed, session duration, and in-app interactions, collected in aggregate via Firebase Analytics
  • Crash Reports — stack traces, device state at time of crash, app version, and related diagnostic data collected via Firebase Crashlytics
  • Push Notification Tokens — Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration tokens used solely to deliver disaster alert push notifications to your device
  • Network Status — connection type (Wi-Fi or cellular) checked locally to optimize content delivery and background sync
  • Advertising Identifiers — on iOS, we request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission before accessing the IDFA for personalized advertising via Google AdMob; on Android, the advertising ID may be accessed subject to your ad personalization settings

Voluntarily Provided

  • Support Correspondence — name, email address, and any information you choose to include when contacting us at app@mint-soft.com
  • Bookmarks and Preferences — your bookmarked alerts and regional filter selections are stored locally on your device using on-device SQLite and shared preferences; they are not transmitted to our servers

How We Use Your Information

  • Deliver Disaster Alerts — to send timely push notifications about disasters and emergencies relevant to your selected regions via Firebase Cloud Messaging
  • Improve App Performance — to identify and resolve crashes, optimize features, and understand aggregate usage patterns through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
  • Serve Advertising — to display in-app advertisements via Google AdMob; personalized ads are only served on iOS after you grant ATT consent, and you may opt out at any time
  • Enable On-Device AI — the AI chat feature runs Google's Gemma model entirely on your device; no prompts, responses, or conversation data are transmitted to MintSoft or any external server
  • Respond to Support Requests — to address questions, bug reports, or feedback you submit via email
  • Check for App Updates — the upgrader package checks the relevant app store for available updates using publicly available version metadata

Third-Party Services

The following third-party SDKs are integrated into Alarmy and operate under their own privacy policies:

  • Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) — collects anonymized, aggregated usage events to help us understand how users interact with the App
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — collects crash and ANR reports to improve app stability
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) — delivers push notifications for disaster alerts
  • Google AdMob (Google LLC) — serves in-app advertisements; may collect advertising identifiers subject to ATT consent on iOS and ad personalization settings on Android
  • Google Play Services / Apple App Store — facilitate in-app review prompts (in_app_review) and version update checks (upgrader)
  • Google Gemma (on-device) — the flutter_gemma SDK loads the Gemma 4 model locally; all inference is performed on-device with no data leaving your device

We encourage you to review the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy for details on how Google processes data through the above services.

Data Storage and Security

The majority of user-generated data in Alarmy — including bookmarks, regional preferences, notification settings, and AI conversations — is stored exclusively on your device using SQLite and Flutter shared preferences. MintSoft does not operate a proprietary backend database that holds personal user profiles. Crash reports and analytics events are transmitted to and stored on Google's Firebase infrastructure, which is governed by Google's security and compliance standards including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications.

We apply industry-standard security practices to any data transmission between the App and third-party services, including HTTPS/TLS encryption. However, no electronic transmission or storage method is completely secure. We recommend keeping your device operating system and the Alarmy app updated to ensure you benefit from the latest security patches and improvements.

Data Retention

Data stored locally on your device — bookmarks, filter preferences, cached disaster alerts — persists until you clear the app's data or uninstall the App. Firebase Analytics raw event data is retained for up to 14 months per Google's default retention settings; you may adjust this in the App's Settings screen by opting out of analytics collection. Firebase Crashlytics retains crash reports for 90 days. Advertising identifiers are processed in accordance with Google AdMob's data retention policies. Support correspondence sent to app@mint-soft.com is retained only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry, after which it is deleted.

Children's Privacy

Alarmy - Disaster Alerts is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the App or via support contact, please notify us immediately at app@mint-soft.com. We will take prompt steps to delete any such information from our records. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that data as quickly as possible.

Your Rights

  • Access — you may request a summary of any personal data we hold about you (e.g., support correspondence) by contacting app@mint-soft.com
  • Deletion — you may request deletion of support-related personal data by contacting us; locally stored data can be deleted at any time by clearing app data in your device settings or uninstalling the App
  • Opt-out of Analytics — you may disable Firebase Analytics collection via the App's Settings screen
  • Opt-out of Personalized Ads — on iOS, withdraw ATT consent via Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking; on Android, opt out via Google Settings > Ads > Delete advertising ID
  • Push Notifications — you may disable disaster alert notifications at any time in your device's notification settings without affecting other App functionality
  • GDPR / CCPA — users in the European Economic Area or California may have additional rights including data portability, the right to object to processing, and the right to know what data is sold or shared; contact us at app@mint-soft.com to exercise these rights

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App's features, or applicable legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, provide an in-app notice. Your continued use of Alarmy after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
