Overview

MintSoft ("we," "us," or "our") develops MoodLog - Heart Notes ("the App"), a daily emotion tracking application designed to help you understand your emotional patterns through journaling, calendar sync, and on-device AI insights. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your information is handled. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.

Information We Collect

Automatically Collected

Device Information — device model, operating system version, language settings, and unique device identifiers used for app functionality and advertising
Advertising Identifiers — IDFA (iOS) and GAID (Android) used by Google AdMob to deliver relevant advertisements; subject to your App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent on iOS
Usage Data — features accessed, session duration, navigation patterns, and in-app interactions collected to improve the App experience
Purchase Data — transaction records for in-app purchases (Pro subscription) processed through Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not store payment card details

Voluntarily Provided

Mood & Diary Entries — all emotional logs, notes, and journal entries you create within the App are stored exclusively on your device and are never transmitted to our servers
Calendar Events — when you grant calendar permission, the App reads and writes mood-related events to your device calendar; this data stays on your device
Biometric Data — if you enable the App Lock feature, your device's biometric system (Face ID / fingerprint) authenticates you locally; no biometric data is collected or stored by us
Support Requests — your name and email address when you contact us at app@mint-soft.com

How We Use Your Information

App Functionality — to operate core features including mood logging, calendar sync, home screen widgets, statistics, and heatmap visualizations
On-Device AI Insights — the AI Insights feature (Pro) uses the Gemma 3 1B model running entirely on your device via MediaPipe; your diary entries are never sent to any external server for AI processing
Advertising — to display personalized or contextual ads through Google AdMob based on your consent choices under ATT (iOS) or device settings (Android)
In-App Purchases — to process and validate Pro subscription purchases and restore entitlements
App Security — to provide optional biometric app lock so only you can access your entries
Data Export — to generate CSV exports of your mood data on demand; exports are saved locally to your device
App Improvement — aggregated, anonymized usage patterns help us improve features and fix issues
Communications — to respond to support inquiries you initiate

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob — delivers in-app advertisements and may collect advertising identifiers, IP address, and device information. Subject to ATT consent on iOS. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Apple App Store / Google Play — processes in-app purchases and subscriptions. Governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies
App Tracking Transparency (iOS) — on iOS 14.5 and later, we request your permission before accessing the IDFA for personalized advertising. You may change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
In-App Review — the App uses Apple's SKStoreReviewAPI and Google's In-App Review API to prompt a rating request after sufficient usage; no review content is accessible to us
Home Widget — mood summary data is shared with your device's home screen widget system using standard iOS and Android platform APIs; no data leaves your device

Note: Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are not currently active in this version of the App.

Data Storage and Security

All mood entries, diary notes, and personal emotional data are stored locally on your device using encrypted storage (flutter_secure_storage backed by iOS Keychain and Android Keystore). We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your diary content. The Gemma AI model used for Pro insights is downloaded once to your device and performs all inference locally — your journal entries never leave your device for AI processing.

We implement industry-standard safeguards for the limited data we do handle, including data transmitted for advertising purposes. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use the biometric App Lock feature and keep your device operating system up to date to further protect your data.

Data Retention

Since your diary and mood data is stored only on your device, it persists until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App. Advertising identifiers and usage data held by third-party partners (Google AdMob) are retained according to their respective policies. Support correspondence sent to app@mint-soft.com is retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. If you request deletion of your support records, we will fulfill the request within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

MoodLog - Heart Notes is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App or via email, please contact us at app@mint-soft.com and we will promptly delete that information. Google AdMob is configured for general audiences; we do not serve personalized ads to known minors.

Your Rights

Access — you may view all your mood and diary data directly within the App at any time; you may also export a full copy as a CSV file from Settings > Export Data
Deletion — you may delete individual entries, all entries, or uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data; for support correspondence, email app@mint-soft.com requesting deletion
Opt-Out of Advertising — on iOS, withdraw ATT consent in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking; on Android, opt out of personalized ads in Google Settings > Ads; the App will continue to function with non-personalized ads
Biometric Opt-Out — the App Lock / biometric feature is entirely optional and can be disabled in Settings at any time
Calendar Permissions — revoke calendar access at any time through your device's system settings without affecting your locally stored mood data
Residents of South Korea — under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you have rights to access, correct, delete, and suspend processing of personal information. Contact us at app@mint-soft.com to exercise these rights

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, applicable law, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, notify you through an in-app notice. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
