DitDash Lab Privacy Policy

This policy explains what DitDash Lab ("the App") stores, what leaves your device, and why. Last updated: 2026-11-04.

1. No account, no ads, no tracking

The App has no sign-up or login. It shows no ads, uses no analytics SDK and no advertising identifier, and does not track you across apps or websites.

2. Microphone

The App asks for microphone access only when you tap Listen, so it can read Morse code from a radio, speaker or recording near your phone.

  • Sound is decoded into text on your device, as it is heard.
  • The App does not record, store or send microphone audio. Audio is held in memory only for the moment it is being decoded, then discarded.
  • No audio and no transcript is sent to us, to an AI service or to any other third party.
  • The microphone is used only while the listening screen is active. It stops when you tap Stop or leave the screen.
  • You can refuse or later turn off microphone access at any time in your device's Settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone; Android: Settings → Apps → DitDash Lab → Permissions). Everything except live listening keeps working.

3. Data that stays on your device

  • Saved reads (Library): the decoded text of each listening session, its date, and the letters that were marked for a second look. Text only, no audio.
  • Practice and tests: the letters you key on the practice key, their dit/dah lengths and gaps, the diagnosis results, and your best test scores.
  • Text you type in Write: converted to Morse and played on the device. It is not sent anywhere unless you copy or share it yourself.
  • Settings: speed (WPM), spacing, tone pitch, decoder options and similar preferences.

We have no copy of this data. You can delete it at any time in Settings → Clear App Data, and it is removed when you uninstall the App.

4. Data sent to service providers

  • Crash reports (Sentry): when the App hits an error, a report with the error message, stack trace, app version, device model and OS version is sent so we can fix it. It contains no name, email, contact, audio, transcript or the content of your sends, and it is not linked to your identity. Performance tracing is off.
  • Purchase records (RevenueCat): if you buy Pro, RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and the store receipt to confirm and restore your purchase.
  • Payments: processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own policies. We never see your card details.

Nothing else leaves your device.

5. Optional web dashboard on your Wi-Fi

If you turn it on in Settings, the App serves your saved history to a browser on the same local Wi-Fi network, protected by a password you set. The data travels only inside your local network and is never sent to us. It stops when you turn it off or close the App. The App asks for local network access only when you turn this on.

6. Copying, exports and sharing

Copied text, exports and share cards are created only when you ask for them, and go wherever you choose to send them.

7. Data retention

Crash reports are kept by Sentry for up to 90 days. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat as long as needed to provide and restore your purchase. Microphone audio is never retained.

8. Your rights

You may ask us about, or request deletion of, any data held by our providers. Because reports are not linked to you, please include your approximate crash time and device model.

9. Processors

10. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

11. Changes

We will post any changes on this page. Significant changes will be noted in the App.
